Ann Barlow’s Legacy Gift Will Provide Scholarships for Future DA Students

Barlow-lg.jpg

I have long known that my mother planned a legacy gift to Durham Academy, and it brought me great joy to fulfill that gift earlier this year.

My mother, Ann Barlow, was an English teacher who felt deeply fortunate to teach at Durham Academy. She loved teaching Middle and Upper School students and was devoted to helping them discover the joy of reading and the craft of good writing.

Over the years, I often met former students who shared stories about her and the impact she had on their lives. Later, she became a proud Durham Academy grandparent and loved watching my daughters grow and thrive at the school.

Her connection to DA remained strong throughout her life, and I am grateful that her legacy gift will help provide scholarships for future students. It is a fitting way to honor a life devoted to learning, teaching, and community.
